(12 Aug):Jessica Ennis who will defend her heptathlon title at the fast approaching IAAF World Championships in Daegu completed her preparations for the task ahead when scorching to a new 100 metres hurdles personal best on Thursday.
Ennis who has been top ranked in the seven multi-event discipline for the last 104 weeks posted an excellent time of 12.79 seconds at the EAP meet in Loughborough on Thursday.
The 25-year-old’s performance moved her into second position in the UK rankings behind Tiffany Ofili-Porter and ahead of fellow Yorkshirewoman Angie Thorp. It bettered her previous best of 12.81 achieved in Bottrup, Germany in June 2009.
