William Sharman wins Northampton Sports Awards

Hurdler Will Sharman was voted Local Sportsman of the Year, following his success and the recent world championships in Berlin, where he finished fourth. He was presented his award by Olympic medallist Katharine Merry at a high profile event at the Park Inn in Northampton.
The award was welcomed by William who had a fantastic year in 2009, and is set on a journey to make the podium in 2012.
“I had a really good evening and to be called up to receive and award with my mother in the room was great – it is so good when you are recognised for what you have achieved – I am really excited about the future.”
